Port Madison Yacht Club
Pirate Day and Treasure Hunt
Sun, July 17th, 2022 / 1:00-7:00
Join the hunt for hidden treasure! Pirates (kids) and Government Cutters (parents) spend time on the water sailing followed by a potluck BBQ with prizes for best costumes (adult, kid and family). Invite your friends (members or non-members) with children if they are interested in sailing. We work to pair up experienced sailors with beginners.
**NOTE: All kids going on the water must be registered here: https://forms.gle/HZ9C44QmHthyLQNt5
Local pirates have discovered a map with the approximate locations of Spanish treasure hidden by Juan Perez in 1774 along the shores of Port Madison. Each location is reported to have Gold & Silver "Coins" and it will be your job to find them by land and sea. On July 16th a wholly unregulated exchange will be set up in the Crows Nest (aka the clubhouse) allowing pirates (young sailors and friends) to trade said Coins for candy. Prizes will be awarded for the best pirate costumes for adult, kid and family and there will be arts, crafts and general merriment for the landlubbers followed by a potluck BBQ (see below for what to bring). And, we fully encourage adults to participate on the water in your choice of watercraft (chase boat, SUP, inflatable unicorn).
This is open to members and non-members so invite your friends with children if they are interested in sailing. We work to pair up experienced sailors with beginners.
